Six frames built in a lab language — white geometry, cold blue, cinematic light. The bottle had to be the only warm thing in the frame.
The brand’s ambition was global serum leadership. Brilliant formulations, impeccable packaging — the photography had to reflect the blend of beauty and science. Modern, chic, and undeniably precise. Monotone backgrounds to let the bottle claim all the attention. A lab environment that didn’t require an actual lab.
Sourcing an actual lab would have introduced uncontrollable variables — colour cast, clutter, fluorescent light. White geometric blocks gave full control. Clean. Precise. Every element in the frame earned its place.
Blue as background wasn’t arbitrary. It’s the colour language of science, medicine, and precision. It positioned the brand outside the warm-toned lifestyle category entirely — into something more credible.
Monotone background — bottle as sole focal point
Lighting was built to reveal the bottle’s material quality — glass clarity, dropper mechanism, label print. Not flat. Not sterile. The kind of light that makes something look expensive before the customer reads a word.
The serum category on e-commerce platforms is saturated with identical images. The brief was to build product presence without borrowing the category’s visual clichés.
Cinematic light · controlled depthSerumique is the world’s first concentration-conscious serum-only brand. Every active ingredient is offered in medically approved concentration ranges — letting users start low and advance as their skin adapts. The philosophy: slow and steady wins the face.
The brand needed to communicate clinical credibility — not wellness warmth. The images had to feel like they came from the same world as the formulations: controlled, precise, and uncompromising. Every surface choice, background colour, and light source was made in service of that single idea.
The brief required both social media and e-commerce assets. Rather than two separate sessions, the shoot was planned with dual-platform framing from the start — square crops for social, wider compositions for marketplace listings. Six images. Full coverage.
Let’s talk about the brief before we talk about the shoot.
